Aberdeen's own advice if being close to the door is not essential: pull into Long Stay, free for up to an hour. Wait in the car or take the free shuttle bus in to meet them.

Express Drop Off is on the upper forecourt directly outside the terminal. The airport calls it very congested and suited only to a quick stop. Card only at the exit barrier.
£50 flat once you pass thirty minutes
That is not a typo. Fifteen minutes is £7, thirty is £22, and a minute later it becomes a flat £50. Blue Badge holders are told not to use Express Drop Off at all — Short Stay gives them 30 minutes free.

As a rule, allow for the passenger to get off the aircraft, clear the border and collect bags before they reach the kerb — around 20 minutes for a domestic or Irish arrival, and longer after a long-haul flight — then add your own drive time on top.
Where do you pick someone up at Aberdeen Airport?
The free option is the Long Stay car park, free for up to an hour, where you can wait in the car or take the free shuttle bus to the terminal. Express Drop Off on the upper forecourt is £7 for up to 15 minutes but charges £1 a minute after that. Short Stay is a couple of minutes away if you want to meet someone in arrivals.
What happens if I stay too long at Aberdeen's Express Drop Off?
After 15 minutes it is £1 for every extra minute, and once you pass 30 minutes it becomes a flat £50. A flight running twenty minutes late is the difference between £7 and £50, which is the single strongest argument on this site for setting off at the right time rather than early.
Can Blue Badge holders use Express Drop Off at Aberdeen?
No — the airport states plainly that drivers with a Blue Badge should not use Express Drop Off. Use the Short Stay car park opposite the terminal instead, where Blue Badge holders get a 30-minute free window for both picking up and dropping off.
